I recently watched Kill, and it was ok? Sure, it was something different in terms of what we see from Bollywood but maybe I had more expectations. But that doesn’t necessarily mean it's not worth your time. Kill is a fun watch nevertheless!
The film starts off like your typical Bollywood movie, with a charming romance between Amrit and Tulika. But don’t be fooled; this film quickly shifts gears into one of the most brutal and bloody action movies I’ve seen. Directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat, it depicts Amrit, an Indian army commando, and his friend Viresh as they (and other passengers) are mugged by thugs on a train ride to Delhi, which escalates into an all-out battle zone.
The fights are intense and creative, with Amrit and Viresh taking on a group of armed robbers led by the ruthless Fani.

What really grabbed me was how Kill flips the usual good guy vs. bad guy story. Amrit starts as the hero but gradually becomes almost monstrous in his rage and vengeance. Meanwhile, Fani, the villain, is shown with surprising depth, driven by a need for his father’s approval. This twist makes you question who the real hero is, which is pretty refreshing for a Bollywood action flick. The film’s technical aspects are spot on, from the claustrophobic cinematography to the sound design that makes every hit feel real.
That said, this film has flaws too. The romance between Amrit and Tulika feels a bit undercooked, and while Lakshya nails the action scenes, he doesn’t quite pull off the emotional moments. Plus, the extreme gore might be too much for some.
TSHC Score: 6.8/10
Overall, if you’re into intense action and complex characters, "Kill" is a gripping watch but if you are like me, who at least needs a bit of an engaging story, well, you might not find it here.
